Thanks Bryston for the continuous effort in firmware updates for your product.

Above shows that after 1.5 years since the last firmware update in 3rd Oct 2022, it just released an firmware update in 3rd May 2024!

Hooray!

Faithfully holding onto my BDP-1, which is only used to play FLAC files on a thumb drive.  Works and sounds perfect for that purpose, but really wished it would play QoBuz and Tidal without all the freezing/skipping/rebooting/general hassles. The new major firmware update probably isn't going to help with my machine, but one can hope.

Hi Chris, is there any chance we will see it by the end of 2024?

Thanks!

Hi,

Have you thought about using your Bryston BDP1 as a roon end point. Mine worked really well when I did this.

Or as a upnp/dlna endpoint.  There are so many good products out there like Minimserver, Bubbleupnp, etc. that work great, are easy to set up and have good user interfaces in their apps.

True, but that's just more money for another monthly service.  Plus my only computer is company-owned, so I am limited of what I can put on it.  As of now I am using the BDP-1 to play my former CD collection that has been ripped to FLAC on a thumb drive and it sounds really good (from the BDP to a Rotel A12 integrated with built in DAC).  And using my iPad to the BDP via airplay to play Tidal.

On Bryston's website, the top of the Digital section cycles through pictures of the BDA-3, BDP-3 and BCD-3 but there is no section describing the BDP-3. I wonder if it's still a current model. I looked in the Discontinued section but it's now blank. Does that mean everything discontinued is now doubly discontinued? Maybe none of it existed at all and the company is one year old. My memory used to be much better than this but I'm not imagining the BDP-2 because I'm looking at it. That's a bit of comfort.

Hi Don

Some of the Classic speakers were discontinued but the more popular ones we are continuing to manufacture.

It seems that firmware is not available for all devices or countries.
In Greece for a BDA-3.14 There is no update in the menu

I lucked into an estate sale set of Middle Ts a couple of months ago.   Game changer for my setup.  The Middle Ts replaced two sets of  Monitor Audio GR20s.  These baby’s sing.  Axiom Audio staff was helpful getting me setup with fresh grills and some tech support on tightening the posts.

Unless you use manic moose to rip CDs the firmware update is no use.

PS, I use it and that's why I reported the problem to Chris and a fix was promptly made  :thumb:
