Can anyone share experience comparing the original X4 Premium with the X4 Ultra?

@Spatial - if I were to get the Ultra-2024 upgrade kit, is there a way to easily keep both mounted and just switch the speaker wire and/or crossover box connector between the two?

I would not say that the Ultra-2024 crossover is necessarily an "upgrade". It's a different voicing. It also changes the speaker from a 2.5-way to a 2-way design. In doing that, impedance is also changed from 4 ohm to 8 ohm load. If someone wanted to have both crossovers available to change between, you could simply have one on the side. However, there is one other difference between the two and that is the felt that we install behind the AMT. We use a different weight depending on which crossover is used. (This is a subtle difference but worth mentioning.)

Thanks.  Will the cable be long enough to reach to the side?

Coming from the Premium, $4500+ would need to be an upgrade in any case still trying to justify the difference.

If you have a Premium you likely have a base that is too small for the larger Ultra crossover. You can still set it on the base. But, it won't be able to attach to the base as the holes won't line up and it will be too close to the driver. A second crossover can be stood sideways next to the base and the connector can be easily changed between the two.
