How much jitter from a typical Transport?

I love my OPPO, but I strictly use it for Blu-ray movies.  It's an older one with XLR outputs, but plays Blue-rays well.  I always wondered if I should bother modding it.  I recently modded my SS processor and this has made movies much more enjoyable.

Anyway, here are the Jitter measurements playing the same track that I always use:

OPPO output jitter with PCM 44.1 track:

Around 800psec of jitter for OPPO alone.

Here is the same signal jitter, reclocked and upsampled to 24/96 with the Synchro-Mesh:

Around 8psec of jitter for OPPO reclocked with Synchro-Mesh.  This is 1/100 of the original jitter.

So Steve, the big question. How do all of these devices sound different with and without the Synchro-Mesh?

What exactly do you hear or not hear with the Synchro-Mesh in place?

Greg - They all sound better with SM.  The SM improves image focus, clarity, width and depth of soundstage and dynamics. Reducing jitter improves many things that are usually deficiencies in digital.  It's like cleaning the dirty window.  You can see everything now.
